What this report does and does not show

This is a material-extraction report on the membrane component, not a performance report. It carries no chlorine-reduction percentage, no taste-and-odour score, no Particulate Class rating and no microbiological result, so none of those numbers are quoted anywhere on this site. The only chlorine figure in it is 0.46 mg/L of free chlorine in the feed water (page 12) - a water characteristic, not a reduction.

What it does show is a wide extraction screen of the PES material. Across the metals panel (EPA 200.8), the semivolatile and volatile organic panels, the nitrosamine, bisphenol, phthalate and PFAS panels, the large majority of parameters came back below the reporting limit - including lead at ND(0.5) µg/L, cadmium ND(0.2) µg/L, mercury ND(0.2) µg/L, Bisphenol A ND(10) µg/L and acrylamide ND(0.1) µg/L. All nine PFAS compounds on the panel came back below their reporting limits, which sit between 3 and 6 ng/L, in both the sample and the control.

It is not a clean sheet, and we are not presenting it as one: a small number of extraction values were above detection, including formaldehyde, dimethylacetamide, acetone, 2-Propanol, toluene and some chlorinated volatile compounds, and the control carries values for several of them too. Every value is in the pages below - read them rather than taking a summary of them.

Two limits stated by NSF itself apply and are repeated here: the report "does not represent NSF Certification or authorization to use the NSF Mark", which is limited to products in NSF’s Official Listing, and "results relate only to those items tested, in the condition received at the laboratory". Test descriptions marked with an asterisk were run to NSF requirements but outside NSF’s scope of accreditation.

The tested object is a component described as Orange ULTRAFILTRATION - PES. No product model numbers appear anywhere in this document, which is why the certification section of this site does not attach an NSF mark to a model list from here.

Full document

All seventeen pages, reproduced in full. NSF’s notice reads "This report shall not be reproduced, except in its entirety, without the written approval of NSF" - so either the whole document is published or none of it is. Earlier this page carried only the cover, which was the wrong side of that line.

Ordering against a report

Send us the specification you need covered. We reply with the document that names that model, or we tell you plainly that we do not hold one - either answer is more useful than a percentage on a web page.
