Aquatech China 2026: What Buyers Asked at Our Stand
Aquatech China 2026 ran from 28 to 30 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. We exhibited in Hall E7, stand E7D73. This recap is written for the buyers who messaged to say they could not make it: what stood on the bench, what the conversations were actually about, and the places our answer was "not with this technology".

What we brought
- Hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane and elements, spun in-house and rated at 0.01 micron - the thing we make, not only the thing we assemble.
- Cartridges in the ranges buyers actually source from us: under-sink and whole-house UF, faucet-mount, shower filter, replacement and quick-connect cartridges.
- Outdoor and emergency personal filtration: filter straw, filter water bottle and emergency filter water bag.
- The documents. The NSF/ANSI 42 certificate for the PES ultrafiltration membrane, the NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 lead-content evaluation report and the third-party disinfection-efficacy report are published as scans on this site, and one of them stood framed on our counter.
Bringing the paperwork to a trade show sounds like a small thing. Having it readable at the counter, rather than promised in a follow-up email, was the item that separated the useful conversations from the polite ones.

What the conversations were actually about
- Where the water comes from, before what the filter is. The buyers worth an hour asked about the feed water first: turbidity, chlorine, bacterial risk, and the cleaning interval their team could realistically staff.
- Batch-level evidence. Every module is tested for integrity inline before shipment, and the records are kept by production batch. More than one visitor asked for a record against a batch number rather than a datasheet. That is the correct request, and we would far rather hear it across a stand than inside a complaint.
- What ultrafiltration will not do. A 0.01 micron membrane is a physical barrier. It retains suspended matter, colloids, bacteria and protozoa, and it lets dissolved species through in the same way it lets through hardness ions and nitrate. Dissolved metals, dissolved PFAS and total dissolved solids need a different stage - activated carbon, reverse osmosis or ion exchange. Virus removal is a separate test with a separate result, and we will not quote one we do not hold. We hold no report showing a PFAS reduction rate for any product, so no such rate appeared at the stand and none appears here.
- Whether a sample predicts the order. Samples and mass production come off the same line here, not a pilot bench and a separate factory. Buyers running their own qualification programme asked this in different words each time.
The bag did the talking
The most photographed object at E7D73 was not a product. It was a clear bag of deliberately turbid water with a filter element suspended inside, sitting on the corner of the counter. People picked it up, tilted it, then asked to see the element. It makes a point that a table of figures cannot: filtration is something happening to water, and the flow a buyer gets depends on what is in theirs, not on what is in our laboratory.

Two things we are taking back to Foshan
First, we quoted flux too readily early in the show. A pure-water rate at laboratory pressure says very little about what the same element delivers inside the buyer's housing at their foulant load, and a couple of conversations arrived at that honest answer one question too late. From now on the answer starts with the water.
Second, more visitors arrived having read a specific page of this site than we expected. The patent write-up and the six-nines report page both came up by name, in questions. A technical site is now doing real work at a trade show, which means the discipline in it has to keep rising rather than the opposite.

If you stopped at E7D73
Thank you - including for the questions that were harder than the ones we had prepared. If the conversation ended at "send me the documents", the email is on its way. If you walked away with something we could not answer across a busy aisle, send it now and you will get the same answer we would have given in person, including the ones that end with "ultrafiltration is not the right stage for this application".
If you did not
What an OEM/ODM programme with us includes
The certificates and reports, published as scans
Send the water analysis or the current spec sheet. The reply will say what the membrane will do, what it will not do, and which document proves each half of that sentence.
Aquatech China is finished for this year. We will be at the next Shanghai edition, and we will add the dates here once the organiser announces them rather than guessing.
