Drinking Water Treatment: Whole-House to Point-of-Use
The proven pattern for homes and hotels is two layers: whole-house 0.01 micron stainless ultrafiltration (3,000-10,000 L/h, driven by mains pressure from 0.1 MPa - no electricity) for every tap, plus point-of-use RO or UF at the sink for drinking water. The membranes are certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and passed NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 lead-content testing.
Whole-house UF protects plumbing, showers and appliances from turbidity and bacteria downstream of the meter; the point-of-use stage handles taste, dissolved solids and anything the family drinks directly. One layer alone always leaves a gap.
Why two layers instead of one?
A single point-of-use unit cannot protect showers and appliances; a single whole-house UF cannot remove dissolved solids at the drinking tap. The pair covers every drop at its appropriate cost.
What flow does a family of five need whole-house?
Start at the 3,000 L/h grade; choose 5,000-10,000 L/h with multiple bathrooms or hotel-style simultaneous demand.
Can this install without electricity?
Yes at the UF stage - H-1 and H-2 run on mains pressure from 0.1 MPa. The R-A1 point-of-use RO unit needs power for its 45 W booster pump.

Frequently asked questions
Does ultrafiltration remove lead?
UF is not a dissolved-lead barrier, but the NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 testing of our PES membrane covers lead content in the material itself, and the RO stage removes dissolved lead - so the combination addresses both pathways. Specify which pathway your regulation cares about.
How often are cartridges replaced?
UF elements are washable with a rated life up to 24 months; the stainless housing is permanent. RO membranes track feedwater - the self-cleaning function extends them.
